About Picnopolis
Help us achieve 10 Days, 10 Sites, and 10 Picnic Recipes for NewcastleGateshead Picnopolis

Tokyo Picnic Club (TPC)'s "PICNOPOLIS NewcastleGateshead" is a FREE event which invites you to share 10 days of picnic throughout the city.
As part of EAST'08 - a world-class celebration of contemporary Asian culture in NewcastleGateshead - TPC will create two different kinds of picnic site, BABYPLANES and MOTHERPLANE, providing a unique opportunity to enjoy summer in the city. During the 10 days, BABYPLANES will travel around the best picnic sites in NewcastleGateshead as chosen by the public, while MOTHERPLANE stays at Gateshead Quays awaiting the return of her babies. All sites are open and free to everyone for picnic, but be careful because TPC will have its spies out documenting your picnic recipes to compile "10 Picnic Recipes for NewcastleGateshead".

Travelling BABYPLANES CLOUD Camera
More than a hundred BABYPLANES will be set like travelling art installations, changing their location every day during the 10 days. Local picnic lovers will have a chance to choose the 10 picnic sites by nominating and voting for the places they would like to see the BABYPLANES bring the joy of picnic. CLOUD Camera will follow the BABYPLANES journey, to shoot your picnic from above. The aerial photos will be uploaded on the official website and available to print out as a reminder of your happiest picnic memories.
